There is a Prophetic Angle
Perspective Matters
One of the ironic examples of a prophetic angle in the Bible is found in the OT when Balak, the King of Moab, tried to get Balaam to curse the Israelites. God had warned Balaam to only say what he wanted him to say.
However Balak tried to bribe Balaam. Balaam had roughed up, after all he had already heard from God and his donkey! When he opened his mouth he could do nothing but bless Israel.
When Balak asked him why? He said he could only say what God said. Now the first time this conversation went down, they were on top of a mountain overlooking God’s folks. So Balak thought, “hmmm, I just need to get this prophet on a different peak so his peek works right.” But alas Balaam did the same thing. This happened three times.
Each time Balaam could physically see from a different perspective, a different angle. The prophetic angle is more than just a geographic position, it is an anointed perception from a spiritual perspective. You need to see it the way God sees it.
Most of the time he gives us a part of that vision. Our visions are the portions that God enables us to see, but that is better than the natural view without God’s touch.
Sadly later on we find that Balaam did succumb to a natural view, in fact quite carnal. But you will have to go to the Scriptures and see what I mean if you have the time.
Bottom line is God will show us what he wants us to know. He will reward us for saying that as accurately as we can. He will give us the liberty to think out loud as we deliberate on possibilities. If it is a topic of no consequence, he will give us the liberty to have an educated opinion. But he will never try to confuse us or send us in the wrong direction.
I love the view from the place where God puts us and shows us a little of the awesomeness that he sees all of. The Prophetic Angle
